This website
No cookies, no analytics, no trackers. Fonts and images are served from the site itself. Our host (Microsoft Azure, in the EU) keeps technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security, for 30 days. The purchase page loads Paddle’s checkout, under Paddle’s own privacy notice.
The app
Emsai works on your Mac first. Captions, voices, language detection, translation, the clipboard and the notes stay on the Mac; the clipboard and the notes are encrypted. Data leaves the Mac only for what you ask for:
- Coding agents: a session in Emsai’s window runs the agent’s own tool (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot CLI, Antigravity CLI) on your Mac, signed in as you signed it in. It sends its provider what it would send from your terminal, under that provider’s terms. Auto’s choice of agent is made on the Mac, by Apple’s model.
- AI features (chat, meeting notes, briefs, cross-review through an API): what you send goes to the provider you chose (for example Anthropic or OpenAI), under its terms. Secrets are removed from code sent for review.
- Agents’ usage: reading another app’s credentials to show its usage is off until you turn it on; they are sent only to that provider.
We receive none of this. Emsai has no analytics.
The launch email
If you leave your email on the “coming soon” page, we keep it with the page’s language and the date, in Microsoft Azure in the EU, to write to you once when Emsai comes out, on the basis of your consent. It’s deleted after that email, or earlier on request (hello@emsai.app). It’s never shared.
Purchases and licenses
Paddle, our reseller, processes your payment and your billing details as an independent controller. From the purchase we receive your email address, your license key and the plan bought.
When a license is activated, our license service keeps: the key, an anonymous identifier of the Mac (a hash of its hardware identifier, never the identifier itself), the Mac’s name, and the activation and renewal dates. It is used to check and renew your license and to let you move it to another Mac, on the basis of the contract. It is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the EU and kept as long as the license exists, then 12 months.
To know how Emsai is used, our license service also counts, without your address or any identifier of you: each download (the version, where the link was, the kind of browser), and each Mac asking for updates once a day (another anonymous identifier of the Mac, different from the license’s, with Emsai’s and macOS’s versions). These counts are kept 24 months.
Your rights
You can access, correct or erase your data, object to its use or ask for a copy, by writing to hello@emsai.app. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
